Editor's Notes:
1. Most of the papers in this special issue are "commentaries" that were editor reviewed prior to submission. Thus, the submission date and the acceptance date are very short, like 1 day for many of them. This process was chosen to facilitate the rapid publication of these commentaries to give insight into the sudden onset of the COVID-19 pandemic and its dramatic impact on the world. 2. The original Call for Papers for this special issue can be found here. The purpose is to share perspectives on how the COVID-19 pandemic is transforming the world and travel and tourism in directions that will be more positive than before the event. The CFP was distributed to the editorial board of the journal, to members of the new Transformational Tourism Group, and a few other people. 3.
